Masters degree in Core Process Psychotherapy from the Karuna Institute, accredited by Middlesex University (completed 2007)

Trained in Internal Family Systems Therapy – Level 3

Registered psychotherapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)

Internal Family Systems Institute and Qualifications

I have trained with the IFS Institute to Level 3, their highest level.

The Core Process Psychotherapy Training and Qualification

The M.A. in Core Process Psychotherapy is a UKCP registered course offered by the Karuna Institute and accredited by Middlesex University. Established in 1982, it is one of the original mindfulness-based psychotherapy training programs. Buddhist psychology and mindfulness practice underpin this work. Teachings are drawn from different Buddhist sources, which are integrated with western personality theory, psychodynamics and psychotherapy skills.

A  bit more about me…

During my career I worked in a range of roles.  I started in IT for a large corporation, then as a director of a small website company.  In 2005 I changed  career and became a Fathers Support worker in Hackney, before moving to a new role coordinating support for vulnerable families and running parenting courses.  Through these experiences I know first hand the stresses and strains that are often part of work in the private and public sectors.

25 years ago I completed a course in meditation and have studied and practised meditation and mindfulness ever since. This led me to the training in Core Process Process Psychotherapy, which deepened my understanding and gave me the skills to work in a one-to-one relationship.

I believe that, while the theory provides an important framework, it is the quality of the relationship between client and therapist that creates a space for insights to arise and changes to occur.

I have worked in private psychotherapy practice for 8 years.
